Biography:

John Stewart, a key member of the Green Lantern Corps, first appeared in Green Lantern Vol. 2 #87 (December 1971). He was created by Dennis O'Neil and Neal Adams.

Architect by trade, John Stewart was chosen by the Guardians of the Universe as a backup Green Lantern for Hal Jordan. Initially reluctant and harboring a rebellious attitude, Stewart eventually embraced his role, becoming a skilled and dedicated protector of Sector 2814.
